The Power of the Third Influence, Part 3
Now after the test in a previous post – and as you continue to test yourself this week - what have you found?
I found that when I have the television or radio on all night, I’m nowhere near as sharp, focused, and efficient throughout the day as when I’ve had some kind of personal development cassette or CD playing all night long. In fact, sometimes these crazy things start to jump into my head — lines from a Seinfeld episode or songs or something. I know that something must have been playing overnight that put the line or song into my head and now it’s popping up. I found that my efficiency and productivity — although they are still good — are nowhere near as good as when I have some kind of positive personal development cassette or CD playing overnight.
This is something you need to try on your own. I want you to take the challenge for yourself and see how it affects your own life. You are going to find that by maximizing the use of your sleep time, you can actually help to accelerate your learning. You can help to accelerate your productivity and keep your mind sharper throughout the day when you are awake. It is amazing how you feel the next day. Your thinking becomes clearer in various situations, you become much more creative, you are able to handle problems much better, and your irritability diminishes.
When it comes down to the Third Influence, a chain reaction takes place. Something occurs to get your attention. It could be someone trying to get you into some kind of multi-level marketing (MLM) or business opportunity, or someone trying to sell you on something personal or professional.
Then something happens. You start to accept what has gotten your attention as probable or possible. Then you start to be persuaded by the idea. As you move through that persuasion process, you start to enter the adoption process. You adopt that idea, person, or belief and accept it as your own. From that adoption process, you have an outcome.
